How to Log Calls and Report on Calls in Zoho CRM

Logging sales calls is so easy in Zoho online CRM, which means your sales team can get on with what they do best: selling. Zoho CRM comes with an inbuilt call logger, with automated timer, options to make the call billable, and even a standard call report for Sales Managers. Here's a step by step guide on how to log a sales call in Zoho CRM.

Logging Calls

1) Go to the contact or lead you want to call.

2) scroll down the record to the Open Activities section.

3) Click Log a Call.

4) Enter the Subject and Call Purpose.

5) Make sure the contact/lead name and account is correct. It should be automatic if you start on the relevant record.

6) If you are about to make the call, leave the default setting to Current Call. If you are adding a call that has already taken place, click the Completed Call option.

7) The Call Start Time will default to the current date and time, else you can edit this if the call occurred in the past.

8) If you are about to make the call, click Start. The timer will start. Otherwise, if the call was made in the past, add the approximate call time.

9) Use the Description field to add call notes, this is very important for follow up later on and this field can be added in the Call Report for reference if needed.

10) Select Billable if the call is billable to your client.

11) Enter the Call Result, a one sentence outcome of the call.

12) Click Save.

Reporting on Calls

The calls reports is found in the Activity Reports section.

- Click Reports

- Click Activity Reports

- Select Todays Calls

If you want to customise Zoho CRM to report on monthly calls, or monthly calls by a certain sales rep or any other criteria, you can.
